Ok let's start w/ Monday April 14th. I wrote it all down:
Wow! It's been a long day. It feels almost like 2 days in one.
This morning I had breakfast at the hotel(complimentary) and then found the shopping center to go to the ATM. I shouldn't of listened to Ruschele, I could have euros on hand w/ out having to worry about it. Oh well.
I drove through Julianstown the way I came yesterday. It's a road parallel to the freeway. The freeway has a toll on the way. I paid going there, then the gps I had sent me in the opposite direction, which I had to pay again! The nice lady at the toll booth told me to take Julianstown road so I wouldn't have to pay a 3rd time. Ugh! So I take Julianstown south to the M1 freeway. I had to do a few freeway changes and hit city traffic on the M50 which then to the M7 to Killkenny. I think that's right. I found having the wifi adapter in my car and using google maps on my phone did just fine. I stuck the stupid GPS Garmin in the glove box.
It took me an hour 1/2 to Kilkenny. Speed limit was 120km. What's that about 75 mph? I drove around a bit before I made it to the parking garage. That's seems to be the consensus of my driving.
I walked a lot, taking pictures and found the Killkenny Castle. It's amazing! I regret not going through it, but I had so much more to see & do. The castle greens were large and open with gardens and statues. Mom, you would have loved it!
The roads through Killkenny are the smallest I've seen yet. I'm surprised there's not more accidents. I did ok. I hit the curb a couple times but I'm in a really small car.
If I ever come back to Ireland I'd like to stay in Killkenny a few days. It just seemed like a cool town.
