Kinsale

Still on Monday 4/14

After Killkenny I got back on the freeway to Kinsale. I did make my own route and decided I would check out Cashel. I of course drove through town and couldn't find the entrance to the castle. I could see it up on the hill but no luck getting there. The issue with Ireland is there's no places to turn off and flip around and the roads are so narrow you can just get lost, stay on that road and end up in some other town. Definitely an adventure. Watch out for tractors entering the road too.
There it is up on the hill. See it?

I decided to get back on the freeway. It took me 1 1/2- 2 hours to get to Kinsale. It got congested in the city of Cork but after several roundabouts it evened out to a 2 lane road with not too much wiggle room. Not as bad as Killkenny though. I still think it's fun!
Now everyone knows that I write lists, print out all my information - pretty much prepared, right? Well I got into town and realized I didn't know where I was going. I didn't print out where I was staying or at least the names of the B&B's!! I needed to pee and I drove down crazy one way streets(at least I hope I was going the right way) and found a parking spot. Good thing I got this wifi adapter that goes in your cigarette lighter. I finally found the email with the B&Bs on it. Whew!
Monday night stay @ Sea Gull B&B. Of course there was no address for it, but I remember looking it up and it was near Desmond Castle. I decided to hoof it. I asked around a bit, and found the place with a note on the front door saying "See Mary @ The Tap Tavern at bottom of hill." I find Mary, go pee finally too and meet her son Brian. Brian offers to help me move my car closer to the hotel/B&B. I just toss him the keys and say "You drive!"  He finds a spot just up the road, helps me with my bag and shows me my room. I was spoiled the night before at the hotel. There's a bed, sink w/ mirror and a shower in the room w/ a side door to the toilet and another sink.
It's weird but works. I couldn't find any electrical outlets. Hence why I'm typing all this today.
Had dinner at Jim Edwards. Ordered a burger and a pint of Blarney Blonde. The food was so good. I've noticed though that I'm only eating breakfast & dinner. Also I think having a heavy beer w/ dinner fills you up quicker.

Since Kinsale is a harbor town it gets a bit breezy and chilly. Good thing I decided to bring my warm jacket.
Weather has been good, no rain.

I ended up at a bar called Dalton's. They had traditional Irish music playing. Met some people from Wisconsin. Sweet couple, Suzanne & Stuart. I also met a nice man, Roger, he was from England but had an apartment in Kinsale. Talked to him a bit. Then made it back to the room about midnight. A bit late and a few Guinness under my belt. It was time for bed.
This is a pic of Sea Gull house.

The lady Mary who ran the B&B and owned the bar was nice. You could tell this morning (4/15/14) after breakfast, it was time to go.
